Understanding the Value of Your Car

Should you want the maximum amount of money for your car, you will need to know its monetary value.

There are online valuation guides as well as offline ones available, such as, the What Car? Used Car Price Guide.

Should your car be in really good condition, with lower than average mileage for a similar car in terms of age and type, your car will of course be worth more. You can use mileage-adjustment tables to work out what you ought to be adding on to the price of your car.

On the other hand, should you have a higher-than-average mileage you are going to have to lower the prices of your car should you want to sell it.

You will need to be honest with yourself with regard to your car’s condition. Should it be slightly battered, you are going to have to lower the asking price accordingly should you not want buyers walking the other way.

On the whole, limited and special editions are not worth a great deal more than the basic model, unless they have lots of extra kit. Even so, you are only likely to be able to make a few hundred pounds extra.

Should you be fortunate enough to have a highly desirable model which others are desperate to buy to you may be able to sell it for more than the list price.
