Car Scrappage Scheme
What is the scrappage scheme?
As a result of a Motor Industry seminar held at the end of April 2009, the government decided to back the scrappage or vehicle discount scheme.
It is a voluntary incentive scheme attempting to keep the motor industry afloat during the recession. From May 2009 to March 2010 providing the set budget doesn’t get used up, a car dealer will give car owners £2000 off a new vehicle in exchange for the scrappage of the consumers existing one.
