SEAT have just announced the UK prices for the new Altea XL.
For £12,995 RRP on the road, the Altea XL is a sporty yet family-oriented car, and will available in the UK by January 2007.
The new Altea range has three engines sizes: a 1.6 102 PS petrol, a 1.9 TDI 105 PS diesel and a 2.0 TDI 140 PS also diesel. Shortly after the launch, the 2.0-litre FSI 150 PS, a new 1.8 T FSI 160 PS and a powerful 2.0-litre TDI 170 PS will also be available. All models come with air conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking, six airbags and MP3 compatible CD player with Aux-In socket.
The new model has an ‘XL’ badge because of an increase in it's length by 18.7 cm that give the car a bigger boot (up from 409 to 532 litres) and more space for the occupants.
With the Altea XL, SEAT is looking to attract those who love the existing Altea’s appearance and sporty image, but who require even more luggage capacity as with rear seats forwards by 14 cm boot capacity is increased to 635 litres more than all of its competitors.
When it comes to safety, the new Altea XL achieved a full 5 stars in Euro NCAP for passenger protection and and 3 stars for pedestrian protection making it one of the safest cars on the road.
