UK price details for the new BMW M3 Coupé have finally been announced along with further details of the most powerful road-going M3 that has ever been produced.
BMWs new powerhouse M3 Coupé will set you back £50,625, making it clear that while it is the most capable M3 ever produced, it will also be the most expensive .
Already labelled as a technical tour de force, the 420bhp V8-engined performance car can blast from zero to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds, before going on to claim a top speed of 155mph (electronically limited).
The real beauty of the new M3 is that engineers have managed to reduce powerplant weight and introduce elements of BMWs EfficientDynamics programme, while increasing engine capacity, cylinder count and output compared to the previous M3s six-cylinder unit.
The use of lightweight engine components means the 3,999cc engine is reduced in weight by 15kgs compared to the previous 3.2-litre six-cylinder . Brake Energy Regeneration combines with an induction system that features eight individual throttle butterflies and double-VANOS variable valve technology, giving brilliant performance.
It is this sort of technology that makes the BMW M3 post a consumption figure of 22.8mpg on the combined cycle, which is an eight per cent improvement over the outgoing M3 model .
The BMW M3 Coupé is guaranteed to be a massive hit and goes on sale in the UK in September 2007, priced at £50,625 OTR.
