Mercedes has announced plans to produce a prestige version of the E Class, aimed at the corporate sector.
The top of the range E Class will set car buyers back £28,515 - £677 less than the E220 CDI model on which the car is based on. According to the German car giant, over £2,500 worth of add-ons and extras will be included in The Mercedes Executive.
The vehicle is powered by a 2.2-litre 170bhp turbo diesel engine, developing 295lb-ft of torque at 2,000RPM. The Executive can reach a top speed of 141mph and hit 62mph in 8.4 seconds, while a combined fuel economy of 44.8mpg is attainable.
It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while a five-speed automatic transmission with Tipfunction and Speedtronic cruise control is available as an option (£1480).
The ultra-specced E Class features telephone pre-wiring technology, which allows the driver to use the phone through steering wheel controls as well as a six-CD multichanger.
A choice of three metallic colours will be offered to buyers along with Artico-trimmed seats and 16" alloys - all adding to the prestige of the car .
The interior includes two-zone climate control, driver lumbar support and adjustable front seats .
In terms of safety, the Executive features front sidebags and windowbags, outer rear seat pre-tensioners and Neck-Pro head restraints, while the Mercedes PRE-SAFE system and Adaptive Brakes are active safety features.
