Audi has unveiled its stunning new soft-top convertible edition of the A3, which is due to arrive in UK showrooms next spring.
The prestige brand’s first ever compact class soft-top will line-up alongside convertibles in the A4 and TT ranges.
The A3 Cabriolet avoids the metal folding roof found on many of its rivals and instead comes with either a semi or fully automatic fabric roof.
The German carmaker claims the inclusion of a fabric roof will result in extra space for passengers, especially for those sitting in the back .
The car should also have enhanced performance and lower emissions than a convertible with a metal roof.
The new A3 will launch in two specifications - Standard and Sport – and be available with a choice of four engine options – 1.8 and 2.0-lite TFSI petrol engines, or 1.9 and 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engines .
The A3 Cabriolet will go on sale in spring 2008 with prices to be confirmed by the end of the month, although Audi has hinted that buyers can expect to pay around £20,000 for the model .
