MotorWeek honoured Jaguar Cars at the Chicago International Auto Show where Jaguars XKR 2007 was awarded the Drivers Choice Awards Best Dream Machine.
Marti Eulberg, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales said, "We are delighted the XKR has been chosen by MotorWeek for such a prestigious award. We take great pride in designing and tuning our vehicles to meet the desires and needs of our customers.
"This further underlines that the XKR delivers a truly rewarding and exhilarating driving experience," he added.
Jaguar shared the Best Dream Machine award with two other cars the Ferrari 599 GTB Firoano and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The award was presented to all three cars but the XKR was the first choice out of the three cars.
John H Davis, executive producer, host and creator of MotorWeek said, "Leading MotorWeeks trio of desirable cars is the Jaguar XKR . This 420-horsepower supercharged feline combines the sports car prowess that originally made Jaguar such an icon, with an uncompromising attention to finesse and detail that is a hallmark of the brands posh sedans."
The new XKR takes performance to another level. It has been designed to protect passengers with a structure that has been strengthened, front and side airbags, large antilock vented disc brakes and a multi-mode dynamic stability-control system. The engine is a supercharged V8 with 420 bhp that propels it from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
