The Mini has been named as the best performing brand in the used car market, making it two years in a row that the car has topped a study from vehicle leasing company Lex.
The latest residual value survey showed that the Mini retains an impressive 54 per cent of its original price after three years of ownership or 60,000 miles on the clock .
German car giant Audi took second and third place with its TT and A5 models, which retain 52 per cent and 51 per cent of their original car value .
The Audi A3, Q7 and Cabriolet models also appear in the top 20 list, giving the car manufacturer the highest amount of entries in the study.
Completing the top 5 most valuable used cars were The Range Rover Sport and Mercedes SLK .
Steve Jones, Lex pricing manager, commented: "Most used drivers aspire to the same credentials as a new car buyer, that of style, exclusivity and reliability and that's why this list is the way it is."
"Those used buyers who can't afford a new Mini or Audi TT may well be able to stretch to a used one in two or three years time so they will be in high demand, thus pushing up prices," he added.
