The Citroen C-Crosser will be available at UK showrooms from next month.
The SUV, Citroen's first ever, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, earlier this year and the French car manufacturer claims the 4x4 introduces a new eco friendly face into the SUV market, which accounted for around 176,000 of UK sales in 2006.
Equipped with a 2.2HDi diesel engine, the new model can manage up to 40mpg, with carbon emissions at 191g/km, making it one of the lowest emitting vehicles in its class.
The car, produced in conjunction with Peugeot and Mitsubishi, also reduces particle emissions through a new particulate filter system and can run on 30 per cent bio diesel without modification.
"With its high levels of practicality and clean, green environmental credentials, the new C-Crosser will add a new dimension to the already diverse Citroen range. It will allow Citron to be represented in an important sector," commented Xavier Duchemin, managing director for Citroen UK .
Prices for the Citroen C-Crosser will start at £22,790 rising to £25,490 for the Exclusive version.
