The new Ford Mondeo is set to make its debut in the used car market next month, where it will enter the Manheim Car Auction in Leeds .
The car auction, which will be held on October 4, will feature 150 different Ford vehicles including various versions of the new Mondeo and the impressive Focus Coupe-Cabriolet .
Chris Shambrook, Fords auction manager, commented: "This approved buyer sale is expected to attract huge interest within the industry and prices achieved will help set the benchmark for residual values."
Robert Hester, CAP valuation relationship manager, said Ford had high expectations for the residual value of the new Mondeo .
"It would not surprise me if the residual value initially reached 80 per cent of cost new," he added.
The new Mondeo, the latest in a long line of the hugely successful family saloon from Ford, was launched back in June. Prices started at £14,995 OTR, rising to £24,195.
Next months auction will also be broadcast via Manheims internet-based Simlucast service, which will enable buyers to bid online via remote.
