UK car buyers are being given the chance to battle it out for the chance to buy the world's fastest production car, the Shelby Super Car Ultimate Aero .
Luxury car dealership Clive Sutton Premier Marques is selling one of only 25 models produced worldwide, priced at £400,000.
The supercar has taken its place in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's fastest car, taking over from the previous title holder the Bugatti Veryon .
The Ultimate Aero is powered by a twin turbo V8 engine, producing a whopping 1183 bhp that enables it to reach a top speed of 257mph and achieve 0-60mph in just 2.78 seconds.
Clive Sutton managed to receive stock of the model after one of its wealthy clients decided to part ways with the record-smashing vehicle after initially purchasing it in the US .
"He went through the process to get it registered in the UK but then changed his mind and decided to sell it and we snapped it up," commented CEO Clive Sutton.
Sutton said he was unsure how long it would take to sell the car but said there were several people already booked in to take it for a test drive.
"The marketplace for £400,000 cars is very small but in the last five months we have sold two Rolls Royce Phantoms Dropheads approaching that price and an SLR roadster at that price," he said.
"It is a very special car - it is something that one of our clients may add to their collection."
