Ford has confirmed the new Focus RS will go on sale in the UK in March at a starting cost of £24,995.
The carmaker has raised the bar in the hot hatch sector with the long-awaited return of its popular RS range.
Powered by a 303bhp 2.5-litre petrol engine, the new Focus RS is able to hit 62mph in less than six seconds and has a top speed of more than 160mph.
The performance is a considerable improvement on the current Focus range-topper, the £20,408 Focus ST3, which has a 0-62 time of 6.8sec time and top speed of 150mph.
Unique RS features include the rear, twin-bladed spoiler, glossy black door mirrors, LED lights at the rear and Recaro sports seats in the front, with side bolsters matched to the colour of the car .
Buyers will receive air-con, a Sony CD changer with DAB digital radio and alarm as standard, while a £750 luxury option pack will be available for those wishing to add climate control, automatic headlights and wipers, rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitor .
