Mini has been named as the slowest depreciating car brand in Britain for 2007, according to new research.
Parkers Car Guides have found that models bought from the Mini line-up in 2007 retained the highest value of any car brand last year, losing just £1,388 in twelve months equal to £27 a day.
The list of the least depreciating models was dominated by small cars, with the Honda Jazz coming second, losing £2,017 within a year, and followed by the Perodua Kelisa, Citroen C1, and Perodua Myvi, which all lost less than £2,150 in value.
Also making it into the list of least depreciating cars in 2007 included the Suzuki Swift, Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo, Proton Satira Neo and the Hyundai Amica.
Kieren Puffett, editor of Parker's said: "This may be the first time that small cars have taken the top 10 places in our depreciation report, but it shouldn't come as a surprise."
"Demand for small cars has never been stronger. Now that buyers can bring their annual Road Tax bill right down to nothing, we can only see it getting stronger," he added.
The Mercedes Maybach was confirmed as the worst performing brand, with its 57/62 model losing £77,651 of its value within 12 months, while the Rolls Royce Phantom also fared poorly, losing £53,919 in a year.
