Jaguar Land Rover is set to recruit up to 600 new employees to work at sites in the West Midlands and Merseyside.
The companies, recently acquired by Tata Motors, said the recruitment drive is part of a £700m investment to improve the environmental performance of future vehicles, with many of the new employees being brought in to develop green technology.
Announcing the scheme, newly appointed Jaguar Land Rover CEO David Smith said: 'This recruitment drive demonstrates Jaguar Land Rover's confidence in our future. With our new owners, we have entered an exciting era, with stunning new models and ambitious technologies."
"I can't remember a better time to be part of the British car industry, and certainly it is a brilliant time for Jaguar Land Rover," he added.
The companies said the focus of the campaign is to recruit new engineers as well as suitable recruits for key positions in their purchasing, finance and human resources departments.
In addition, over 80 graduates are being sought after as part of a new graduate recruitment programme. The new graduate-employees will be based at the companys Gaydon plant in Warwickshire.
