Production of the MG TF is due to restart this August, with the first wave of newly built cars expected to arrive in UK showrooms in September, the companys owner has announced.
According to reports by NAC MG UK Ltd, the car will go back into production at the Longbridge plant in Birmingham, bringing an end to a long period of uncertainty for the company, which has been forced to postpone the relaunch of the TF on several occasions.
MG said the new MG TF LE500 will be aimed at motorists looking for an authentic sports car driving experience, and at existing small sports car owners looking to upgrade.
The cars will be sold through a network of 57 dealers across the UK, the majority of which are former MG Rover dealerships .
MG also announced that plans are underway to produce a range of new MG models to be launched at a later date .
