The Corvette ZR1, the fastest Corvette to date, is coming to the UK .
General Motors has announced that the 200mph-exceeding supercar will be available to UK buyers at a price of £109,000.
The car is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 that produces 638bhp and helps it achieve a top speed of 206mph.
But the car’s hefty price-tag means it will go head-to-head with more exotic supercar machinery such as the Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari F430 and Audi R8 when it enters the UK market.
However, motorists willing to put up with the logistics of importing a car can pick up the ZR1 for the US price of $105,000 (around £60,000).
Only two cars will be brought to the UK this year and a further 18 are expected to arrive over the next two years, meaning owners of the ZR1 will become part of a truly rare club.
Corvette is also offering advanced driver training, a three-year/60,000 mile warranty and three years’ roadside assistance to every UK buyer of the ZR1 supercar .
