Peugeot has revealed first images of its new Prologue concept car, set to be officially launched next year as the 3008 crossover.
The concept car, set to be unveiled at next months Paris motor show, has been described by Peugeot as being 'derived from the fusion of different worlds' due to its unique combination of 4x4 and MPV styling.
According to Peugeot, the concept car's hybrid system combines 200bhp performance with CO2 emissions of just 109g/km and will also operate in electric-only mode.
Although the Prologue features a hybrid drivetrain, the production version will be powered by more conventional engines when it goes on sale in 2009.
The French carmaker is yet to release details of whether the car will run on a petrol or diesel engine, although it announced yesterday that it will have the world's first diesel-electric hybrid production car on sale within two years.
