Volvo has announced its trio of low-emission cars will be officially unveiled to the public at next months Paris motor show .
The carmaker confirmed the green cars will be branded Drive when they go on sale in mid-November.
The C30 Sportscoupe, S40 saloon and the V50 Sportswagon will all be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine and each emit under 120g/km of carbon dioxide 14g/km, 11g/km and 14g/km less respectively than the standard models.
According to Volvo, the lowered emissions have been achieved by maximising the cars' aerodynamics, fitting low-resistance tyres, optimising engine cooling, increasing gear ratios, and using low-friction oils.
The cars average fuel consumption has been increased to 64.2mpg for the C30 and 62.8mpg for the S40 and V50.
Volvo is yet to announce prices for the Drive trio, although the new motors are expected to carry a £100-£300 premium on the standard models.
