The Peugeot 107 has been named as the best car for holding its long-term value.
According to new research by used car price guide Glass's Guide, the 107 is above the rest when it comes to fighting off depreciation, retaining 60.9 per cent of its original list price after three years.
A cheap purchase price, low road tax and high fuel efficiency were identified as the key factors to the 107's residual value success.
Second in the resale values top 10 list was the Toyota Aygo, which retained 60.2 per cent of its original price, followed by the Suzuki Swift on 59.5 per cent, the Citroen C1 (59.2 per cent) and the Mini (58.9 per cent).
The Ferrari F430 made it to sixth place, braking up the supermini / city car domination with 58 per cent of its £135,685 list price still intact after 3 years.
Completing the list is a further 2 city cars - the Volkswagen Fox (57.8 per cent) and the Honda Jazz (57 per cent) along with the Volkswagen Eos (56.3 per cent) and in tenth place, the Ford S-MAX (56.1 per cent).
