Volvo has announced it will unveil an extended range of economical models at the Geneva motor show next week.
The XC60, V70, XC70, S80, C30, S40 and V50 will join Volvos DRIVe range, the carmakers brand for its most environmentally friendly cars .
All DRIVe models use a conventional diesel engine and a manual gearbox optimised for low fuel consumption, as well as low-rolling-resistance tyres and aerodynamic bodies.
In addition, the C30, S40 and V50 all feature engine stop-start technology and an energy-regeneration system to further reduce emissions .
The XC60 and XC70 both benefit from the introduction of front-wheel drive, which pushes emissions below 160g/km.
The new Volvo models will go on sale in the UK this summer, with prices excepted to be announced closer to the release date.
