Vauxhall Introduces Motor Industrys First Lifetime Warranty

Vauxhall is offering a comprehensive lifetime warranty on all new models in the manufacturer's line-up.

The first of its kind warranty, which takes immediate effect, covers all fleet and privately owned Vauxhall vehicles bought after 1 August this year for the lifetime of ownership, or up to 100,000 miles.

All mechanical parts are covered, including the powertrain, steering, brakes and electrical systems, although wear and tear items are excluded.

To maintain the cover, owners will have to visit a Vauxhall retailer for a free inspection once a year, but servicing is not restricted to one of the company’s franchises an can be carried out at an independent car garage .

Duncan Aldred, Managing Director of Vauxhall, said: "At Vauxhall we are confident in the quality of our products, the engineering behind them and the people who build them. We set the highest standards for ourselves and because we have confidence in the quality of our vehicles we want to make sure that customers benefit from that confidence too."

Vauxhall said it is also working on a plan to allow second owners to purchase the warranty.
