Vauxhall Announce April Launch Date For Ecoflex Astra

Thu, 28 Jan 2010

Vauxhall has announced it is to extend its Astra line-up with the launch of its greenest Astra model to date.

The Ecoflex Astra – the first Ecoflex model in the Astra range – will arrive at UK dealerships in April.

With CO2 emissions of 109g/km and average economy of 67.3mpg, the new car is 12 per cent more economical than the 1.7 CDTi model, which is currently the most efficient version in the Astra range.

The new model is fitted with the same 1.3 CDTi engine that was recently added to the Corsa range. The engine is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox and a gearshift light to show drivers the most efficient gear to be in.

In addition, the car has also been fitted with a host of aerodynamic aids, including an active shutter that automatically closes at high speeds to smooth the airflow around the front of the car .

The Vauxhall Ecoflex Astra comes with a choice of four trims: S, Exclusiv, SE and SRi - the first five-door Ecoflex model to come with this sporty option.

Prices range from £17,920 to £20,320, depending on trim, and all models come with an annual road tax rate of £35.
