Volkswagen has announced it is to launch a new used car scheme designed to make the experience of buying a used vehicle as close as possible to that of buying a new motor .
Under the carmakers Das WeltAuto scheme, VW dealers across the globe will offer used cars (Volkswagen or not) with less than 100,000 miles that meet the appropriate standards.
All cars will be prepared to VW standards, as well as having at least 12 months warranty, a full history check and a 30-day, 1000-mile no-quibble exchange promise.
In addition, buyers will be able to choose from a list of options that includes a years free roadside assistance, three years MoT protection and free MoT tests for life.
Their dealer will also suggest a number of approved accessories to personalise the car, such as upgraded alloys, parking sensors and sat-nav systems .
Volkswagen said the scheme has already been trialled for a year through 21 dealers in South West England and South Wales, and will be officially launched across the full dealership network on April 22.
