The famous MG brand is set to make a long-awaited return to the UK this summer with the release of two British-built cars .
The Chinese-owned company has brought forward the launch of its new five-seater MG6 sports saloon to July 2011, two months after the Fastback model hits British showrooms.
MG sales and marketing chief Guy Jones said: "We received really good feedback from our market research on the saloon which is perceived as a prestigious sports model. There is a very high level of interest in the car so we have brought forward the launch by a few months."
Prices for the car will be range between £17-20,000 and it will be produced alongside the MG6 Fastback at the famous Longbridge plant in Birmingham.
Full production targets have not been released but the car firm is looking to produce several thousand vehicles when the assembly lines are up and running.
MG Motor UK has also unveiled a new signage and logo to help rebuild its image.
The launch of the MG6 and Fastback models will mark the restart of car production at Longbridge for the first time since MG Rover closed in 2005.
